ONE CLICK

In the complex world of online crime we are often only one click away from compromise and infection without any user interaction beyond that first click (one click). An email may appear to come from an friend, family, or a company with a link or attachment it wishes you to click on (one click). A web site you frequent seems to have more links available for you to click on (one click). Bad guys will design links solely to get you to click on a link, looking for that one click. If bad guys can comprise your computer, they don’t have to ask for your data, they can simply take it, because of one click.

  • Do not click on links contained within an unsolicited email.

  • Do not click on attachments contained within an unsolicited email.

  • Do not click on the unsubscribe links within an unsolicited email.

  • Do not click on links that end with “.php” or “.exe” or “.zip”

  • Don’t click on a link, if some Prince, King, or Queen in a third world country was offering you millions

  • Practice cautious web browsing and do not click on links or submit any information to unknown WebPages.

  • Check the web and Google information before clicking on the unknown.

  • There is a handy tool that has been around since 1876, the Telephone. Use it to call someone for help

Remember if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. You all be careful out there in cyber space.
